Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant

for our

OBGYN Clinic . The LPN supervises, directs, and monitors the clinical care assigned to her/him. The LPN administers medications, vaccines, and performs related duties. The LPN must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety, and related criteria for the patient population.EDUCATION:High School diplomaGraduate of state approved LPN schoolCertified Medical Assistant degree also consideredLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:Current license as LPN in state of LouisianaCPR certificationTRAINING/EXPERIENCE:One year+ of clinical experience preferredAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to interact courteously and tactfully with patients, physicians, staff, management, volunteers, and contract employeesAbility to triage patients, perform CLIA waved tests, administer vaccinations and injections under supervision of a physicianJOB KNOWLEDGE:Basic knowledge of the nursing process and nursing principlesBasic knowledge of anatomy and physiologyThorough knowledge of nursing proceduresPRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrates respect for patients and familiesMaintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient careApplies the clinical process to each patient and implements clinical actionsKnowledge and the ability to set up and assist with all surgical/diagnostic/treating procedures in the officeAssisting with doing messages dailyTriaging and assisting patients during clinic hoursScheduling diagnostic testing (CT, U/S, MRI, etc.)Doing precertification for tests if neededCall patients to notify them of date, time, location, and any special instruction pertaining to testMaking sure orders and precertifications are faxed to the appropriate siteAssisting with stocking rooms and making sure that all supplies are in the rooms to complete daily tasksKnowledge of how to properly sterilize, package, and label surgical instrumentsKnowledge and assisting with how to order medication from the pharmacyAssisting with medication refills (faxed refills, CareTracker refills or patients phone calls)Entering accurate quality measures in EMRMaintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational dataConsistently lives by Iberia Medical Center’s Standards of PerformanceCOMPETITIVE BENEFITS:Great medical benefit planEarly access to earned wagesParticipation in robust state pension planDental, vision, life insurance, disability, and more!IBERIA MEDICAL CENTER is an EEO employer - M/F/Vets/Disabled
