Project Canary is a climate technology company offering an enterprise data platform that helps energy companies improve and report on their emissions footprint. Project Canary builds high-fidelity sensors, ingests data from various other technologies and sources, and leverages proprietary analytics and models to deliver insights that operators can act on to reduce emissions. The data-driven technology enables energy operators to stop leaks faster, reduce risk, streamline reporting, and differentiate their operations for key stakeholders.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations to lead and optimize our operational functions. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in scaling our operations, ensuring efficient processes, and enhancing overall organizational effectiveness. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in operations management within a hardware-enabled software environment, who is adept at leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement. You will be responsible for all internal, customer, and partner operations, coordination, and execution. Areas of responsibility include product implementation, customer support, regulatory reporting, fleet management, demand and supply forecasting, partner coordination, inventory management, and all associated capital allocation in support of. This role is rated against B-ARR attainment, time to implementation, fleet up-time, and internal collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and execute the operational strategy in alignment with company goals and growth objectives.

Partner with executive leadership to shape long-term operational plans and ensure alignment with the company's vision and mission.

Operational Excellence:

Oversee daily operations across all departments, including supply chain, partner relationships, regulatory reporting, and customer support.

Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.

Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

Establish clear goals and KPIs, and regularly review team performance to drive continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with product development, engineering, sales, and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software solutions.

Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments to align operational activities with strategic objectives.

Supply Chain and Vendor Management:

Oversee supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, and inventory management, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and managing performance.

Customer Experience:

Ensure exceptional customer experience by implementing and optimizing support processes and addressing customer feedback effectively.

Work with the customer support team to identify and resolve operational issues that impact customer satisfaction.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to emissions management and hardware/software integration.

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the company’s assets and reputation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Proven experience (10+ years) in an operations management role within a hardware-enabled software company, with a track record of leading successful teams and scaling operations.

Strong understanding of hardware manufacturing processes, software development cycles, and supply chain management.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Experience with emissions management or environmental sustainability is a plus.
