The SAP Electric Ops Work Management Delivery organization provides SAP IT services to the Electric line of business. The organization is responsible for strategic technology planning, roadmap development, solution design, solution delivery, and solution support.
Position SummaryThe role of IT SAP Functional Planner - UIPlanner is to configure, implement, maintain, and upgrade all UI Planner modules.
The Functional Analyst analyzes business requirements, creates functional design documents, and performs UI Planner system configuration and localization to provide system solutions for the Line of Business and IT organizations. This role is viewed as an integral strategic partner and business liaison in technology decisions and provides ongoing UI Planner system support. This includes analyzing business requirements and developing integrated IT and complex business solutions.
ResponsibilitiesBusiness Support and Consulting:
Define standard processes in UIPlanner and drive adaptation in Finance areas.Analyze end-to-end complex business processes across all modules within UIPlanner.Understand in detail the current and future business environment of the business organizations; effectively anticipate, identify, and fully meet the business needs using an integrated approach leveraging existing and new UIPlanner capabilities.Identify, propose, and influence IT solutions to complex cross-organizational business problems utilizing ERP capabilities; negotiate requirements and deliverables across multiple business and IT customers and organizations.Evaluate current customizations in the system to help business and IT partners understand risks and costs of customizing vs. using standard functionalities, advocating for using standard functionalities to lower future implementation cost and total cost of ownership (TCO) for solutions.Functional Analysis:
Automate/optimize UIPlanner system.Map business requirements to SAP S4 / SAP BW4HANA system capabilities and configure to meet requirements.Review design and technical specification documents for alignment with business solution.Perform UIPlanner configuration and do quality review and testing activities.Qualifications
10 years of job-related experience in Information Technology.8 years of experience as a Functional Analyst in UIPlanner system such as ClickUp, Notion or similar.Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, PowerPlan or similar ERP systems for utilities.Experience with Project creation, estimating, approval.
Desired/Nice to have:
Deep UIPlanner Expertise:
Proficiency in UIPlanner's Financial Model, including calculation configuration, report building, and interface design. Additional experience with modules like Regulatory and Rate Design, Capital Planning, and Budget is highly preferred.Utility Finance & Regulatory Acumen:
Extensive understanding of utility accounting principles (deferred accounting, CWIP/AFUDC, rate base, etc.), rate case processes, and regulatory compliance for electric and gas utilities.Technical & Project Management Skills:
Ability to lead IT transformation and software implementation projects, troubleshoot and resolve UIPlanner database issues using SQL, and design end-to-end processes within UIPlanner.Cross-functional Collaboration:
Strong communication and liaison skills to bridge the gap between finance, IT, and external vendors. Capable of designing training plans and creating user documentation.FP&A Experience:
Background in financial forecasting, budgeting, or experience working on a utility FP&A team is highly desirable.
