Job Description of the Executive Director/ Assistant Superintendent of Auxiliary Services and Athletics

Reports To:

Superintendent of Schools

Job Overview:

The Executive Director/ Assistant Superintendent of Auxiliary Services and County Athletics is responsible for overseeing the administration, coordination, and supervision of auxiliary services across the school district, as well as managing county-wide athletic programs. This role involves strategic planning, budget management, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Executive Director/Assistant Superintendent will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to enhance the quality and efficiency of services provided to students, staff, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Auxiliary Services

Leadership & Management:

Oversee the operations of all auxiliary services, including transportation, food services, maintenance, and technology.

Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance service quality, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Monitor and evaluate the performance of auxiliary services to ensure alignment with district goals and objectives.

Budgeting & Resource Allocation:

Develop and manage the budget for auxiliary services, ensuring the effective allocation of resources.

Oversee purchasing, contract negotiations, and vendor management to optimize service delivery and cost savings.

Policy Development & Compliance:

Establish and enforce policies and procedures related to auxiliary services, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with school principals, administrators, and community members to address needs and concerns related to auxiliary services.

Provide training and support to staff involved in the delivery of auxiliary services.

County Athletics:

Program Development & Oversight:

Supervise and coordinate county-wide athletic programs.

Implement policies and procedures that promote student-athlete well-being, academic achievement, and sportsmanship.

Monitor the performance of athletic programs, ensuring compliance with state athletic associations' regulations.

Budget & Resource Management:

Prepare and manage the athletics budget, ensuring the proper allocation of funds for equipment, facilities, transportation, and staffing.

Oversee the maintenance and improvement of athletic facilities to ensure safety and optimal performance.

Collaboration & Communication:

Serve as a liaison between the school district and community organizations, fostering partnerships to enhance athletic programs.

Personnel Management:

Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate coaches and athletic department staff.

Promote professional development opportunities for coaches and support staff.

Qualifications:

Education:

Master's Degree

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational administration, preferably with a focus on auxiliary services or athletics.

Demonstrated experience in staff supervision.

Prior experience managing large-scale operations, facilities, or athletic programs is highly desirable.

Certifications/Licenses:

Valid administrative certification or licensure as required by the state.

Proficiency in using technology for administrative purposes, including budget management software and facilities management systems.

Assumes such responsibilities and performs other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
