Fairbanks Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) is seeking a full-time Executive Director to lead its large, high-quality youth soccer program. FYSA is one of the largest youth sports organizations in the state of Alaska and includes year-round soccer programming to more than 2,500 players and their families in the interior of Alaska. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of strategic direction, program planning, budgeting, fund-raising, and executing programs within the organization, as well as overseeing the organization's five year-round employees and more than thirty seasonal employees and contractors. FYSA is a 501(c)(3) membership-based non-profit organization. The Executive Director answers to the FYSA Board of Directors.To apply for this role,

A USSF, United Soccer Coaches, UEFA coaching license or equivalent will be considered a strong bonus, as will a USSF referee license.LocationFYSA is located in Fairbanks, Alaska. Distance-work will not be considered for this role.CompensationFYSA offers a highly competitive salary, starting at $60,000.00 and adjusted for experience. Paid time-off and development opportunities are provided.Job ResponsibilitiesCooperate with the Board of Directors on strategic planning for FYSA’s soccer programs, facilities, and community partnerships.Financial management and budget planning.Fundraise from public and private sources.Oversee the acquisition, development and maintenance of playing facilities.Hire and manage full-time, part-time and seasonal staff.Oversee and participate in the development and execution of FYSA programming.Engage and maintain relationships with FYSA’s community partners, which include both private and government organizations.Communicate effectively with both the Board of Directors and the FYSA membership.Oversee the ordering and purchasing of team and player equipment from vendors.Oversee FYSA’s regulatory and organizational compliance with federal and state laws and governing organizations.Manage the recruitment, training, and placement of FYSA volunteers.Oversee FYSA’s risk management position, including safety procedures, insurance maintenance, and other methods of protecting the public, membership and organization.Required SkillsEffective public communication skills.Financial management of an organization using Quickbooks or similar software.Strong familiarity with Google products like Docs & Sheets.Strong communication & writing skills to interact with partners and the public.Program planning and event management.Ability to plan technical aspects of a recreational and advanced recreational soccer program.FYSA organizes and/or oversees a significant number of soccer programs each year, including:Summer recreational youth and adult soccer seasons.Fall outdoor soccer recreational soccer season.Fall outdoor middle school seasonSummer soccer camps and clinics.Fall and winter youth and adult futsal seasons.Spring high school season.Clinics, tournaments, and events throughout the year.Since 1978, Fairbanks Youth Soccer Organization has been dedicated to providing soccer education and opportunities to the families of the Alaskan interior.
