About This OpportunityThe Senior Manager will be a key member of M&A/AI team leadership and assume a leading role on deals and project teams. He/she will lead and develop the M&A Analysts, and support and assume leadership and responsibilities from the M&A/AI Directors and Senior Vice President/Vice President.
The Senior Manager M&A/AI at 7-Eleven has leadership responsibility for M&A Deals and the team and, in fulfilling such, he/she will get the opportunity to step into a Director-type leadership role. This Senior Manager will be in a unique leadership position with the three Directors to manage deals and the overall team workload and processes. He/she is expected to be Director-ready in the near future and to be a candidate should a Director role open.
The incumbent will be a key member of cross-functional teams supporting and accelerating the strategic growth of 7‑Eleven. He/she will lead efforts across departments, working together with other leaders to analyze, diligence, and consummate transactions. Working closely with the Directors, Senior Vice President/Vice President, and rest of the M&A group, he/she will be part of a world-class M&A team and have direct deliverables to, and interaction and opportunities to influence, senior management of 7‑Eleven on strategic initiatives. The Senior Manager will work with cross-functional leaders at all levels of 7-Eleven, including directly with senior executives up to and including the CEO and the President of 7-Eleven. The ability to quickly decipher information, evaluate opportunities, and creatively solve problems will be critical to success in this role. This leader will need to leverage the 7‑Eleven Leadership Principles and Digital/Agile thinking to move quickly and decisively.
A successful Senior M&A/AI Manager will exhibit many of the skills of a Director on a M&A deal team and will be leading and working closely with the Analyst team to ensure and accelerate the development of Analysts and analytical support of deals. The incumbent will provide support for the Directors and directly or together with the Directors to the Senior Vice President/Vice President, and provide leadership across all M&A deals and projects. He/she may take on the lead role from the Directors on smaller M&A deals and on select M&A divestiture activity.
Responsibilities:
Quickly analyze and evaluate opportunities and present such to the entire M&A Team, including directly to the Senior Vice President/Vice President and to the Directors.
Lead team to develop detailed acquisition site assessments and characterizations for each site.
Provide clear input and direction to the initial economic assumptions for investment modeling.
Determine key drivers for a successful transaction based on appropriate cross-functional input from internal and external stakeholders and experts.
Be able to interface with all levels of the organization, including executive and board presentations.
Review and approve pro-formas and valuation models for acquisition opportunities.
Coordinate scenario and sensitivity analyses to further analyze strategic investment decisions.
Lead the review and negotiation of NDAs/Confidentiality Agreements.
Develop a letter of intent with the Legal department and submit valuation and deal terms to seller/target/broker.
Review and provide comments and work directly with Legal and leadership on deal documents, including the purchase agreement and ancillary documents.
Provide leadership and support to drive Interim Period due diligence and closing and planning and execution of acquisition integration activities together with and as part of the integration team.
Track, direct, and lead M&A divestiture activity, including valuation, negotiation of price and contract terms, and the transition process to the new owner.
Work cross functionally to ensure that Legal, Accounting, Operations, IT, Real Estate, SEI Fuels, etc., are all properly informed and engaged with each acquisition and/or divestiture project.
Lead analysis, valuation, negotiation, etc. on smaller acquisition opportunities, including valuation and contract negotiation, working cross functionally (e.g. SEI Fuels, Merchandising, Construction, Acquisition Integration) to develop support and buy-in for assumptions used in M&A models.
Work with Digital and Business Development teams to evaluate and analyze prospective early stage or start‑up companies for strategic ventures that could include material investments, joint ventures, partnerships and/or acquisitions.
Lead cross-functional analysis of goals and potential acceleration of such strategic plans through structured transactions.
Analyze financials and potential operations of prospective partners and be a leading member of the team determining the potential for a transaction and structuring and leading such transaction negotiation and integration.
Provide other technical support for M&A deals, including working with Real Estate systems, reviewing leases and 3rd party contracts, etc.
Develop and maintain tracking tools to assess performance of historical acquisitions and integrations.
Provide continuous review and improvement of people, processes and systems to improve the overall M&A/AI Team and strategic priorities.

Be Director-ready in the near term.
Coach & train Analysts/Senior Analysts – Share vision/framework, review work with them and delegate as appropriate.
Qualifications:

Bachelors/4 Year Degree (MBA/CFA is preferred).
General understanding of Retail, C-Store and Real Estate industries; technology and start-up/emerging company knowledge is a plus.
