The Center Director is responsible for providing instructional and operational leadership for a team of approximately 18 early childhood education staff and 48 children and families. The Center Director ensures that the center maintains a high-quality child development program and sustains a positive, safe and healthy center environment where children, parents and staff thrive. Mile High Early Learning invests in our staff with ongoing professional development including college courses, certifications, conferences, and workshops.Responsibilities for the Early Childhood Center Director include:Maintain compliance with CO Child Care licensing, the Department of Health, Head Start, Early Head Start and CACFP regulationsProvide direction and leadership to center staff to maintain quality programmingParticipate in the hiring and onboarding of new staffSupport teachers in planning and implementing the curricular approach to learning according to developmentally appropriate and individual children’s developmentEvaluate teaching staff through the use of assessment results, ratings and other sources of data collected to measure effective work with childrenMonitor expenses and control inventory within budgetary allowancesSupervise and provide leadership for the Assistant Director and teaching staffEnsure adherence to policies and proceduresEncourage and support parent engagementWork closely with team members to create and deliver parent engagement eventsWork as a team with family services and education staff throughout the programRequirementsRequired and preferred qualifications for the Center Program Director:AA/BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or related field
ORAA/BA/BS in non-related field along with 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Education from a regionally accredited college or university (BA/BS preferred)Must have a CDEC Center Director QualificationCompliance with other regulatory requirements as applicableMinimum two years’ experience in a supervisory position in an early childhood setting (three to five years preferred)Working knowledge CO Child Care licensing standardsExperience working in a Head Start or Early Head Start program (preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteEffective verbal and written communication skillsReliable vehicle and valid State of Colorado drivers license and evidence of current automobile insurance with at least the minimum Colorado State liability requirementsPass CBI & FBI background check, post-employment medical examination and drug screenFlexibility to work an alternating schedule that will include opening (7:15am) and closing (5:30pm) center hoursMile High Early Learning offers the following benefits after start of employment:Signing bonus (see above)5+ weeks of paid time offEmployee discount for child care (employees' children attend for free)Health insurance (as low as $138/mth)Dental insurance (at no cost for employee only coverage)Short term, Long term, and Life Insurance (no cost)Retirement Plan with employer matchFinancial support for education related college coursework or degree attainmentEmployee assistance program with robust mental health supportMHEL uses an online system for references.
