PURPOSE:

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, and collaboration with the Dean of Students, the Title IX Coordinator and Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR) Prevention Administrator provides leadership and direction for the Office of Discrimination, Harassment & Retaliation Prevention and Title IX Administration. The Coordinator is a hands-on administrator responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and coordinating the campus' response to students, faculty, staff, and visitors/third parties experiencing varying degrees of distress.

The University's Title IX Coordinator and DHR Administrator is responsible for university compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of the 1972 Civil Rights Act, the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization of 2012 (VAWA), and CSU system wide and University policies prohibiting discrimination, harassment and retaliation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

Serves as the University's Title IX Coordinator and Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation (DHR) Prevention Administrator, in accordance with CSU Executive Orders 1096 and 1097, which includes oversight of and/or investigating allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and sexual violence; meeting with the complainant on a regular basis to determine necessary interim steps; developing and overseeing educational programs and training materials; preparing annual statistical reports; and monitoring and overseeing campus implementation of Title IX and Discrimination compliance.

Oversees investigation of complaints alleging violations of University policies prohibiting discrimination, harassment and retaliation; conducts fact-finding including interviewing the complainant, respondent and potential witnesses, assessing the credibility of witnesses, preparing detailed written investigatory reports and making recommendations for action.

Works in coordination with other appropriate offices to facilitate or conduct conflict resolution for campus affiliates, ensuring proper coordination with Human Resources, Ombuds, Academic and/or Student Affairs.

Coordinates and monitors Title IX efforts of other delegates and university offices that receive and/or investigate complaints.

Oversees, develops, and provides education, training, and outreach programming to the campus community regarding the prevention and reporting of sexual violence and harassment.

In partnership with Human Resources, develops and provides education, training, and programming for campus efforts related to diversity and inclusion.

Oversees Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) reviews for active recruitments and manages campus Equity Advisors.

Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff and manages office operations and budget.

Keeps current with changes in system-wide policies and federal and state policy changes that affect responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A master's degree in social work, psychology, higher education administration or related field from an accredited university. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience, preferably in a large public or private organization or institution of higher education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical fluency with Oracle/PeopleSoft, CSU Common Management System or equivalent student information system; Microsoft Office Professional Suite, and Google mail and calendaring programs.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND POSITION DESIGNATIONS:

May require occasional evenings and/or weekend work.
