Job SummaryThe Aviation Claims Director is responsible for overseeing the management and resolution of aviation-related insurance liability claims and litigation. This role involves claims handling in compliance with industry regulations and maintaining high standards of customer service. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aviation liability claims and litigation, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the aviation industry. A law degree and civil liability litigation experience preferred.

Key ResponsibilitiesClaims Management

Oversee the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of aviation liability insurance claims.

Ensure claims are handled in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to company policies and industry regulations.

Review and approve large or complex claims, providing guidance and support to claims team.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and assist a team of claims professionals.

Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

Client Relations

Maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders.

Address client concerns and provide updates on claim status.

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.

Regulatory Compliance

Stay current with industry regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines.

Implement and maintain best practices for claims handling and documentation.

Financial Oversight

Monitor and manage the financial aspects of claims, including reserves and settlements.

Prepare and present reports on claims activity and financial impact to senior management.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in litigation and claims management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Aviation Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., J.D., CPCU, AIC) preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation insurance claims and litigation.

In-depth knowledge of aviation insurance policies, regulations, and industry standards.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
