Dakota State University is seeking a Senior Director of Advancement Operations & Services to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our fundraising strategies. You will lead a talented team responsible for gift processing, donor data management, prospect research, and stewardship. Your expertise will ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations, enabling us to achieve our ambitious fundraising goals. The Senior Director of Advancement Operations/Services reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and is part of the leadership team with the Senior Director of Philanthropy and Senior Director of Alumni Relations.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of gift processing, donor database management, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making, optimize fundraising campaigns, and enhance donor engagement.

Develop and implement comprehensive advancement operations strategies that align with our organizational goals and mission.

Lead, mentor, and empower a team within Institutional Advancement.

Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, implementing new technologies and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required in a relevant field such as Business Management, Accounting, or a related field.

At least 5-10 years of progressively responsible experience in advancement services, fundraising, development, or a closely related field.

Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, with a track record of managing teams and developing strategic initiatives.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with CRM and fundraising software (e.g., Blackbaud, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Analytical skills and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Familiarity with compliance and ethical standards in fundraising and nonprofit management.

Understanding of donor relations, stewardship, and fundraising campaign management.

In-depth knowledge of fundraising principles, strategies, and best practices.
