We are currently looking for a full-time

Senior Business Development Manager

to contribute to North Dakota's economic development by providing business related assistance and research to all areas of technological companies interested in expanding or locating in North Dakota. You will represent the State directly with entrepreneurs and companies to determine company needs, assist local partners in preparing information, arrange and conduct site tours, and serve as a liaison with economic development partners.

The

Senior Business Development Manager

will focus on guiding Aerospace/UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) economic development in North Dakota and will involve coordinating and representing Commerce with various technological committees, as well as acquiring extensive knowledge of new and expanding technological opportunities related to North Dakota.

Aerospace/UAS business development duties will include:

Market Analysis and Strategy DevelopmentSector-Specific Research: Conduct in-depth analysis of the UAS market, including trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to attract new markets, expand existing ones, and keep North Dakota competitive in the industry.Project and Partnership Development

Partnerships: Identify and develop strategic partnerships, engagement, and collaborations that can enhance North Dakota's business development efforts.Project Management: Oversee the development of new projects from conception through execution, ensuring they align with the state's business goals.Essential business development duties for this position include:Maintain contacts and communication with companies relating to retention and future expansion. Communications include phone calls, e-mails, written correspondence, and face-to-face contact via business appointments, etc.Identify the needs of targeted industries, including businesses operating in North Dakota, entrepreneurs interested in starting new businesses, and out-of-state companies seeking new locations.Manage projects and coordinate resources, including all appropriate aspects of the specific project. These duties include listening effectively, responding to sensitive inquiries, accurately defining problems, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents including trade information, annual reports, SEC filing documents, business plans, legal documents, or government regulations, etc.Meet with community leaders and local economic developers through community and business visits to assist in: creating expanded business linkages, increasing businesses' awareness of development programs, enhancing public relations and contact bases with developers in the State, identifying community needs and wants, and identifying new business opportunities.Meet with existing businesses to evaluate their capacity for additional business opportunities.Assist local economic developers in specific development efforts to secure an investment.Continually educate and stay informed of target industry trends to identify opportunities.

To be considered for this position , you must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and five to ten years of similar or related economic and business development experience.

Aerospace/UAS economic development experience is preferred.

Location : Commerce has a central office location in Bismarck and this position will be working remotely from any North Dakota location. Travel is required.

Hiring Salary is $5,604 - $6,667 monthly.
