Summary
The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) is an essential member of the Division of Advancement and on the NMC Foundation Team. He/she is responsible for establishing, cultivating, and sustaining relationships with corporate and foundation prospects in an effort to secure funding and support for Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) through its Foundation. The Director will manage a portfolio of prospects and work in close partnership with college and foundation leadership, academic units, and programs to develop and implement strategies to secure funding in alignment with NMC's strategic plan.The Director participates as an active member of the Advancement team, serves on the NMC Foundation Staff Team, and reports directly to the Vice President of College Advancement.

(Critical) Promotes the benefits of giving to NMC and encourages lifelong relationships between the college and its donors, including foundations, corporations, and individuals.(Critical) Manages a pool of prospective corporate and foundation (CFR) donors and prospects by developing and implementing overall strategies for engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding those individuals.(Critical) Conducts in person and over the phone visits and solicitations with prospects as appropriate, and is the primary fundraising staff member supporting CFR programs for the Dennos Museum Center, WNMC radio, International Affairs Forum, Extended Education, and specific academic programs during membership or special fundraising drives such as Giving Tuesday, etc..(Critical) Develops donor loyalty and builds a foundation for future major CFR donors through providing excellent, personalized communication(Critical) Facilitates identification of CFR giving prospects, in collaboration with colleagues.(Critical) Stays aware of college strategic initiatives and potential impact of fundraising. Engages college leadership in the fundraising process.(Critical) Creates and monitors effective execution of the college-wide CFR communications calendar, including a robust project calendar for the NMC Foundation and Alumni Relations Program, Dennos Museum Center, International Affairs Forum, WNMC Radio, Extended Educational Services, and more.(Critical) Works collaboratively with program and executive directors, as well as the President's Office, to create unit-specific CFR fundraising plans, and reports back on results.(Critical) Evaluates all CFR giving projects, and the overall program, for effectiveness; remains agile and ready to adjust strategies based on results.(Critical) Remains updated on current fundraising, direct marketing, and volunteer management trends, practices, and procedures used in the not-for-profit sector, sharing knowledge with Foundation staff as appropriate and applying it strategically.(Critical) Oversees budgets, progress, deadlines, goals, and objectives related to department and responsibilities.(Very Important) Manages the creation and maintenance of CFR giving reports in partnership with the Database and Prospect Research Specialist.(Very Important) Provides exceptional customer service to all CFR donors, alumni, volunteers and other constituents.(Very Important) Provides leadership and works closely with the NMC Foundation's high level volunteer board of directors.
