Database Developer , you will work in a database DevOps type capacity, performing tasks applicable to both a database developer and a database administrator. You will be deeply involved in many aspects our business and help manage and maintain some of our most critical systems.This is an on-site role located in
Wichita, KS.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Monitor, optimize, and maintain database systems and performanceModify databases according to requests and perform testsDiagnose and troubleshoot database errorsCollaborate with developers to improve applications and establish best practicesDevelop technical and training materialsManage database access and provide data management support to usersResearch and suggest new database technologies, services and protocolsCreate and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboardsCreate automation for repetitive database tasksAddress issues escalated from our internal or external customers or our support team
:QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:3+ years of experience with database development and administrationBachelors degree in relevant field of study1+ year of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SSMS, SSRS, and SSISMicrosoft PowerBI Report Server experience nice-to-haveExperience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory managed permissionsFamiliarity with source code management conceptsExcellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to embrace changeHighly effective verbal and written communication skillsFamiliarity with Microsoft Office SuiteA SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:High level of personal integrityExcellent verbal and written communication skills and impeccable attention to detailStrong organizational skillsSense of urgency which drives resultsInterpersonal skills ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels within/outside the organizationDemonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to embrace and promote changeInnovative mindsetAbility to think objectivelySelf-awareness in the face of uncertaintyAbility to work in a team environmentPOET CULTURE:Culture is king at POET.
