Responsibilities:
Under the general direction and guidelines of Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) standing orders, standards established through the Nurse Practice Act of Pennsylvania, and Grand View Hospital policies and procedures, the Registered Nurse, RN, Emergency Room is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in the Department of Emergency Medicine.Job Summary:The Registered Nurse, RN, Emergency Room position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient statusDetermining the priority of the patients problems and needsImplementing clinical nursing interventionsHaving a highly diverse skillsetDeveloping and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomesEnsuring a safe and therapeutic environment
Essential Functions:Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care teamConduct initial and ongoing patient assessmentEvaluates, updates and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomesProvides care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short-stay to traumaAdminister medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of PracticeOur Emergency Department has 30 beds plus 3 Trauma bays. We see patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric. All medical concerns including STEMIs, acute stroke and trauma patients, as well as patients experiencing mental health emergencies.Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts in a pay period, from 7:00 pm - 7:00 am, every third weekend, and every other holiday.Qualifications:Education and Experience:Vocational Nursing diploma, requiredAssociate's Degree Over 6 months to 1 year as an acute care Registered Nurse, preferred
