The Certified Nursing Assistants provides direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a RN and in accordance with policies and procedures.Qualifications:In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:Six months previous CNA experience preferredAbility to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishBasic computer skillsPrevious customer service experience preferredHigh School diploma or GED requiredGraduate of a Nursing Assistant Program requiredState registered CNA license requiredCrisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training preferred. CPI training required if sitting with M-1 holdsPhysical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)Schedule: Part time (days)Your Connected Community:At CommonSpirit Mountain Region, we believe in the healing power of humanity and serving the common good through our dedicated work and shared mission to celebrate humankindness.The Surgical Floor 9 Department at Penrose Hospital, an achieved Magnet hospital, is a 23-bed unit, where we care for general surgery patients with surgeries such as bowel resections, ostomy creations, urological surgeries, gyn surgeries and trauma patients. Caring for these patients builds a strong base of knowledge and skills for nurses that includes care of drains, wound vacs, central line and tube feedings. We manage patients pain with many different modalities. Discharge education begins when the patient is admitted to the unit. The nurses are focused on educating patients and families to help the patient with a successful recovery. The nursing team collaborates with the physicians in the patients Plan of Care. The nursing team on the 9th floor is supportive of each other on the floor in coordinating care and the team builds relationships personally. The skills and assessments acquired on this unit builds a strong resume if a nurse has goals to transition to critical care nursingOur Total Reward Offerings:Be sure to consider our generous benefits as part of your overall compensation!
