Summary

Due to the addition of a second position in our Technology Department, the Town of Gorham is currently seeking an experienced and versatile Information Technology Director to oversee all aspects of the Town’s IT infrastructure and security, including supervision of the IT Systems Technician. This is a direct technical and administrative role responsible for the design, implementation, management, and security of the Town’s IT and networking infrastructure, including all associated peripheral systems. The IT Director uses exceptional understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems to ensure business continuity and implement IT strategies and infrastructure according to best practices.

Compensation & Benefits

This full-time (40 hour) salaried exempt position is eligible for a comprehensive package of pay, benefits, and paid time off. The Town currently pays 90% of the premium cost for all health insurance coverage levels and provides a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) to help cover the cost of out-of-pocket medical expenses, such as deductible and coinsurance. Individuals covered by an alternative health plan are eligible for an annual medical buyout in lieu of coverage (currently $2,443 - $5,480 based on coverage eligibility). In addition to a choice between two excellent health insurance plans, a 457(b) deferred compensation retirement plan with a 7.5% employer match, and paid vacation, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays per year, employees have access to dental, vision, medical and dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts, life insurance, short-term disability, IRAs, tuition reimbursement, and more.

The pay range for Grade 7 positions begins at $88,400 per year; however, actual wage will depend on experience, qualifications, and budget availability.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required. Minimum of five (5) years’ progressively responsible experience in information systems that includes the management, supervision, and administration of information systems design, implementation, and operations in a centralized operating environment required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
