Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and organized Program Director to join our growing youth program. The NBC Program Director position is a contractual position between September-June (10 months) in 1 fiscal year. In this position, you will play a key role in shaping and educating our participants by coordinating and managing any NBC enrichment program with numerous activities and tasks. You will also collaborate with other mentors, create recreational plans and activities, and may be asked to oversee participants in fun-filled projects.
Program Director Specific Responsibilities:
Monitor program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments based on feedback and evaluations.
Site-management.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to program activities, participant information, and attendance.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to Senior Mentors effectively, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
Host daily team huddles to touch base with mentors and senior mentors.
Ensure timely and efficient completion of assigned tasks.
Guide and teach a range of indoor/outdoor activities.
Create monthly surveys and newsletters.
Attend all workshops and/or corporate events.
Create financial reports.
Create staff and program schedules.
Follow safety and emergency procedures and guidelines.
Perform administrative tasks (filing, record keeping, etc.) as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of supervising experience in a social work setting.
Strong management skills with a proven track record in program development.
Experience working with school age children.
Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
Proficiency in inventory and program management.
High school degree or equivalent; Associate’s degree, or two (2) years or more of full-time college coursework equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience as a counselor-in-training, teacher, childcare, or related field.
First aid and CPR training and certification (preferred).
1-2 years of office/administrative or management experience.
Skills:
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Encouraging to participants and patient when instructing.
Ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable leading a team.
Creative and innovative thinker and planner.
Strong ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities and events.
Skills in managing and resolving conflicts between children or between staff and children.
Computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
Google Workspace.
Time keeping.
Data entry.
Strict adherence to NBC philosophy, standards, and goals.
Must have a willingness to take the lead on projects and tasks without constant supervision.
Schedule:
During School Program: Tuesday-Thursday 8:30am-3:00pm or After School Program: Monday-Thursday 2:00pm-5:00pm
