Position : Chief Financial Officer
Location : Renton, WA
Northwest Center is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team. This key leadership role will be instrumental in supporting our strategic growth initiatives and advancing our mission services. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to drive growth, oversee capital investments, and manage financial reporting. The successful candidate will work with both internal business leaders and external partners, such as banks and financial institutions.

Salary : $137,177.33 - $205,766.00

Essential Duties
Leadership & Communications:
Establish strong relationships with division leaders, front-line staff, the Executive team, the Board, and key external stakeholders, including donors, capital sources, and corporate advisors.
Provide leadership in managing complex strategic transitions such as mergers, acquisitions, lending agreements, strategic alliances, and divestitures.
Team Management & Development:
Directly manage the Controller and oversee the broader accounting and finance teams.
Create an organization and staffing plan to support significant, ongoing growth across diverse business and mission segments.
Attract, develop, and retain talent to build a strong financial infrastructure.
Financial Strategy & Operations:
Manage the short and long-term capital structure to finance the company's strategy, sustain growth, raise debt and equity financing, and monitor the company's cost of capital.
Oversee the company's cash and liquidity concerning short and long-term working capital requirements and invest excess cash.
Ensure operational excellence in financial systems and reporting.
Translate long-term strategies into actionable, motivating, and measurable goals.
Engage in strategic planning, growth initiatives, and financial forecasting.
Risk & Compliance Management:
Identify, mitigate, and monitor hazard and business risks, integrating risk mitigation processes into line management.
Oversee additional activities such as managing legal documents/contracts, real estate procurement or lease negotiations, etc.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree
CPA or equivalent; CMA preferred. Neither is required to be current.
Experience
15 – 20 years of experience in Accounting with progressively more complex management, including experience as a CFO
Experience working in organizations between 50 - 100 million plus annual gross revenue with a minimum of 500 employees
Experience working with an accounting staff of around 20 employees
Experience working across multiple industries and in financially complex organizations
Demonstrable Skills
Exemplary communication skills suited to Board, Executive Team, managers, and staff.
Experience in multiple business environments and continuous process improvements that reduce workload and complexity.
Proven track record of building cohesive, highly productive teams.
Strong financial administration leadership skills with a deep understanding of financial accounting systems, audits, budgeting, financial forecasting, and GAAP accounting.
Ability to work at both granular and strategic levels.
Drive to create long-term models supporting new initiatives and creative growth.
Demonstrated passion for the mission of Northwest Center and commitment to developing staff and supporting their personal growth.
