Course Development and Instruction (40%):Create and assess learning objectives, update syllabi each semester, develop and teach course content, prepare course materials, homework assignments, and handouts, update weekly lessons and readings, provide timely and constructive feedback to students on assignments, exams, and projects, foster relationships with faculty and staff partners and coordinate guest lectures, utilize an array of learning platforms and technology, assess and incorporate student feedback to develop and improve course content and delivery, instruct and lead global programs abroad.Career Counseling (30%):Provide holistic coaching and mentoring to pre-health students (current and alumni) exploring health careers, conduct individual meetings with students, support students in understanding their skills, interests, and values as they relate to careers, coach students in the Health Profession Pathways program, plan, develop, and implement programming and workshops for career development and application preparation topics.Outreach and Engagement (15%):Represent the Pre-Health Student Resource Center at campus events, support planning and execution of large scale events, develop and lead professional development opportunities for student services staff.Recruitment, Hiring, and Supervision of Student Workers (7%):Coordinate the recruitment and hiring process for student workers, onboard and train new hires, supervise student workers.Professional Development (5%):Participate in professional development around career development, commitment to continuing education and skill development focused on equity and social justice.Other Duties as Assigned (3%):Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
BA/BS degree plus at least five years of relevant experience, or master's degree plus at least three years of relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in higher education and student affairs, previous career coaching, counseling, or academic advising experience, flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, demonstrated commitment to equity and social justice.About the Department
