We pride ourselves on keeping our clients informed on new developments in their cases.Our privacy breach management and board investigation defenses include not only addressing the matter at hand, but also a comprehensive review of the health care provider's office policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.We currently have an opening for a full-time associate-level attorney with 3 - 5 years of civil litigation experience to join our growing Medical Malpractice/Health Law practice group. Given the Firm's size, experienced lateral hires will have an opportunity for immediate and substantial client contact and will work directly with the Practice Group Chair representing hospitals, medical centers, and health care professionals in medical and dental liability actions, defending credentialing matters, and managing privacy breaches of all sizes.Candidates with medical malpractice defense litigation experience are strongly encouraged to apply.Key ResponsibilitiesDrafting pleadings and motionsDrafting and responding to written discoveryConducting and defending depositionsAppearing in court and arguing motionsPreparing for and attending multi-party, complex civil trialsEducation And Qualification RequirementsJuris Doctor (JD) from accredited law schoolAdmission to DC bar or waiver eligibility (required)Admission to VA bar (required)Civil litigation - medical malpractice defense litigation experience preferredKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesStrong analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, prior experience as a Journal editor preferredAbility to prioritize and multi-task a diverse caseload and meet deadlinesSelf-starter who takes ownership of executing tasksAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentAdditional InformationWe offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, health savings account and flexible spending account, 401(k) and profit sharing, paid vacation and sick leave, paid parental leave, free on-site gym access, and an emphasis on work/life balance.Associate attorneys are eligible to participate in the Firm's billable-hours bonus program.After training and orientation, you will have the option to work remotely most days. Schedules and in-office work depend on practice group needs.Salary Range$120,000 - $140,000 based on experience and credentials; however, the higher end of the salary range is reserved for exceptional circumstances.
