Candle Media is hiring a Senior Corporate Accountant to support the Candle team. In this role, you’ll assist in the month-end close and reporting process by preparing journal entries, performing data analytics research, analyzing account fluctuations, and contributing to special projects as needed.We’re looking for a strategic thinker who will be able to support key initiatives for our business including ensuring timely month-end closes, financial compliance, and contributing to the overall success of our finance function. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and other business partners daily to ensure accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting.What You Will Do:
Own month-end close fluctuation analytics, reconciliations, consolidations and posting entries for different entities to ensure accurate reporting.Prepare entries and code expenditures to proper cost centers and general ledger accounts, ensuring that general and subsidiary ledgers assure accuracy and compliance with the Company’s established accounting principles and that all documentation and records of transactions are kept.Handle vendor invoices by researching and analyzing problem invoices and following up on inquiries, getting proper approvals from senior management, and sending checks and wires.Participate in and drive cash process improvements and automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and enhance system capabilities.Develop audit SOPs.Gain an in-depth understanding of Company operations and business results within assigned areas to prepare monthly analysis and variance explanations.Prepare month-end accruals and reconcile accounts to vendor statements as well as prepare monthly bank account and balance sheet reconciliations.Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant accounting experience, Big 4 experience preferred.Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP.CPA or progress towards obtaining a license is preferred.Advanced Excel skills.Analytical mindset & ability to work with large sets of data & strong attention to detail.Ability to work under pressure, often in a deadline-driven environment, and ability to perform several tasks concurrently.Must possess excellent critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and superior attention to detail.Ability to work independently.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.Prior experience with Netsuite or other ERP systems is a plus.Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this role is between
