Our schools are part of the nationally recognized “Knowledge Is Power Program” network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools dedicated to preparing students for success in college and in life.Here’s what you need to know:KIPP Miami is looking for an exceptional development leader to drive the fundraising needed for KIPP to provide thousands of children in Miami with a world-class education. Specifically, the Director of Development will lead all fundraising efforts to raise $20 million over the next 7 years. This is a Miami-based role that reports directly to KIPP TEAM & Family’s Chief Development Officer.Key responsibilities include:Build relationships with philanthropic partners who embrace the work and have a passion for KIPP’s impact.Set the vision and strategy to realize and exceed the annual development goals through various funding sources.Actively lead the major gift process from acquisition to solicitation and acknowledgment.Manage the capital campaign consultant charged with assisting KIPP Miami launch and execute the campaign.Manage relationships with board members to ensure their ongoing investment in our growth.Lead the local team in executing the fundraising strategy and meeting annual goals.Build best-in-class systems to support KIPP Miami’s development work.Here’s how you’ll do it:Fundraising: Understand that this work is essential to more kids in Miami getting an exceptional education. Act with urgency to raise money and bring new partners onto the team.Relationship building: Develop deep, meaningful relationships with partners that result in increasing giving and broader networks of support.Communications: Serve as a highly visible ambassador for KIPP Miami in the community. Inspire others through exceptional writing and speaking.Strategic Thinking: Devise innovative fundraising plans and mobilize partners to achieve our goals.Here’s what we are looking for:KIPP Miami is seeking a seasoned fundraising professional with experience in a dynamic non-profit environment. You must have strong relationship building skills and be an authentic communicator. You understand the value of philanthropic partners and their role in strengthening KIPP Miami’s fundraising capabilities.5+ Years fundraising experience with major gifts (five to seven figure gifts)Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skillsStrong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive SuiteExperience with project and people managementExperience with CRM/Fundraising Software is preferredStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsComfortable working with a virtual teamMust Haves:Ability to work on occasional evenings and weekendsAbility to travel to school locationsPeriodic travel to New Jersey will be required.Experience raising funds in the Miami area is preferred.In addition to a competitive salary, KIPP NJ offers a full comprehensive benefits plan, including health care, retirement, a school laptop, and transportation benefits.KIPP New Jersey | KIPP Miami is an equal opportunity employer.
