Job Breakdown:

A Senior Media Planner is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing media plans that align with a client's marketing objectives. This role involves conducting market research, analyzing audience data, and selecting appropriate media channels to reach target audiences effectively. The Senior Media Planner collaborates with creative teams, account managers, and vendors to ensure campaigns are executed smoothly and meet performance goals. Additionally, they monitor campaign performance, make data-driven adjustments, and provide insights for future strategies. Strong analytical skills, media industry knowledge, and experience in media planning and buying are essential. Leadership and the ability to mentor junior planners are also important aspects of this role.

Collaborates with the media team to evaluate data and develop effective media plans, focusing on target audiences and markets.

Utilizes media research tools (MRI, Vivvix, GWI) and audience insights to determine optimal media mixes and strategies.

Assists in budget planning and developing media objectives.

Develops and presents media strategy and tactical plans for feedback and approval.

Manages and oversees the execution of media plans, including reporting, optimizations, and vendor relations.

Utilizes media research, audience insights & data analytics to determine an optimal media mix.

Handles media authorizations, budget management, and invoice reconciliation.

Keeps up-to-date with industry trends and participates in vendor meetings and new business projects.

Mentors and delegates tasks to junior team members, fostering their development and expanding their skills.

Conducts competitive research, contributes to agency POVs, and participates in performance evaluations and candidate interviews.

Engages in agency and departmental training sessions to stay informed and innovative.

Gathers, organizes, and presents competitive research and spending data.

Oversees media reporting and key insights/optimizations to evolve media and achieve client goals.

Participates in media vendor meetings, presentations, and functions to learn about new opportunities and represent the KH media team.

Motivates Planners/Coordinators and encourages innovation and creativity throughout all projects by serving as a role model within the group/team.

Contributes to performance evaluations of direct reports.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field preferred.

3+ years of media planning experience required.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong mathematical abilities required.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the organization.

Ability to work with agency accounting systems and/or other media planning and media research-specific software, including MS Office programs.

Salary Range:

This is an exempt role with a salary range of $70,000 - $80,000.
