Acme Continental Credit Union: Controller/Vice President
The Controller is responsible for functions related to accounting and financial analytics including reporting, forecasting, modeling, asset/liability management, identifying trends, the rate setting process, annual budget, and other duties as assigned. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to the President/CEO, assisting with various projects and daily operations, and will utilize a full suite of products and services in the Credit Union industry.
Responsibilities
Directs, coordinates, maintains, and controls an accounting system of the Credit Union
Prepares reports for President/CEO, Board of Directors, and various regulatory agencies
Attends monthly and annual board meetings; serves as Board Secretary
Establishes projects and goals for each area of responsibility and tracks performance
Prepares internal and external financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, which includes State and National regulations
Analyze actual-versus-budgeted and forecasted financial performance
Provide management with written analyses on financial trends
Serves as a resource in all aspects of accounting
Oversees budgeting, general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, accounts receivable and credit union profitability reporting
Collaborate with President/CEO in preparation of Annual Strategic Planning materials for presentation to the Board of Directors
Coordinates financial audits with auditors
Works with President/CEO to develop strategic financial goals and regulatory financial compliance
Assigns, directs, and appraises the operations staff
Ensures that staff supports the overall goals of the Credit Union and that credit union services are delivered professionally and efficiently by all employees
Experience & Education Required
5+ years of relevant experience within the financial service industry (Credit Union experience preferred)
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Knowledge of Credit Union and industry accounting practices and procedures
Knowledge of State and National credit union regulations and reporting requirements
Knowledge of auditing and budgeting functions
Must be bondable
Technical understanding of automated accounting and information reporting systems
Fiserv-Portico experience would be ideal
Experience with CECL
Previous management experience required
Bachelor of Science in accounting
