The ownership group of The Buck are willing to do whatever it takes to make The Buck a real “go to” destination. We have an amazing location, a great product and bar, a loyal client base, and additional space and concepts to add revenue sources; however, we want to maximize efficiency and improve current operations first before taking the next steps to grow the business outside of our “four walls.” This is where you come in! We are offering a unique compensation package with a base salary plus generous profit-sharing incentives with clearly defined goals for maximizing untapped revenue potential.

In this role you will work alongside experienced managing owners that will focus on separate areas of the business; however, you will be given complete autonomy regarding running the business, staffing, proposing capital improvements and participating with the ownership group to develop the longer term vision and strategy.

Our desired candidate should be a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They must be able to multitask effectively, work under pressure, and make quick decisions. Additionally, they should have a passion for the restaurant industry and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of our restaurant, providing exceptional hospitality and ensuring a seamless customer experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of cooks, servers, and other staff members, as well as maintaining high-quality standards in food preparation and presentation. This role requires a passion for the culinary industry, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Local applicants are preferred. Out of area applicants will only be considered if they are planning to move to the Bozeman area.

Required skills and responsibilities include:

Leadership and Staff Management:

Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring staff.

Training and development of staff.

Conducting regular staff meetings and motivating them to achieve goals.

Organizing schedules, tracking employee hours, and recording payroll data.

Customer Service and Operations:

Overseeing daily operations, both front-of-house and back-of-house.

Ensuring high-quality customer service and resolving customer complaints.

Managing reservations and seating arrangements.

Supervising food preparation and presentation to maintain quality standards.

Financial Management and Inventory:

Monitoring financial performance and budgets.

Identifying ways to cut costs and control operational expenses.

Ordering supplies and inventory while staying within budget limitations.

Utilizing POS system to track sales and manage inventory.

Inventory controls, especially liquor.

Marketing and Sales:

Developing and implementing sales strategies to attract and retain customers.

Implementing marketing and promotional activities.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Maintaining cleanliness and a safe environment for both staff and customers.

Additional Responsibilities:

Coordinating with kitchen staff for menu planning.

Handling customer feedback and complaints.

Keeping track of employee hours and recording payroll data.

Title & Compensation:

Title – General Manager

Base Salary - $60,000 to $85,000

Bonus – Tied to quarterly and annual net operating profit targets
