Our facility is accredited by the Joint Commission and has 24 licensed beds, a 3 bed ED, and 8 OR’s. We provide first-class surgical services in various specialty areas.Job Summary:

The CEO is responsible for directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of the operating functions, processes, and staff of the Surgical Hospital while efficiently providing surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.Reports to : Regional Vice President, Operations or Regional Director, Operations, and Governing Board of the facilityJobs Reporting to this position : All facility employees and contract staffThe following description of the job responsibilities and performance expectations are intended to reflect the major responsibilities of the job but are not intended to describe the minor duties or other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.Responsibilities:

The daily operation of the facility.Serve as a liaison between the Governing Board, the Medical Staff, and all departments of the facility.Report pertinent activities concerning the facility to the Governing Board at regular intervals.Appoint a person responsible for the facility in the absence of the CEO.Plan for the services provided by the facility and the operation of the facility.Overall management of the Partnership as outlined in the Operating or Limited Partnership Agreement.Lead discussions during Monthly Operations Review calls with USPI’s Home Office Business Operations team.Deploy, monitor, and ensure that USPI’s EDGETM is the foundation of the facility’s operational processes.Ensure compliance with USPI’s policies and procedures related to internal controls.Develop, monitor, and control staffing needs, operations budget, and capital budget.Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.Negotiate and control all external contracts.Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis and local market standards.Foster positive work relationships among all departments of the facility.Develop and ensure compliance with appropriate departmental policy and procedure manuals.Monitor variations in the financial performance of the facility.Personnel Administration:

Hold monthly staff meetings outlining goals and priorities of the facility.Manage exempt and non-exempt employees in accordance with facility policies.Review employee performance as evaluated by their respective managers.Review and approve the disciplinary action and/or discharge of employees.Evaluate management performance and other staff as designated.Develop employee productivity analysis.Implement a program for job-based orientation, training, and ongoing evaluation for all employees.Manage all employee files and records.Provide educational opportunities for professional staff development.Clinical Services:

Ensure compliance with regulatory body and accrediting body standards.Work with the Medical Director in the evaluation and development of surgical services.Manage clinical departments and supervise contracted services.Monitor the adequate function of surgical equipment.Marketing and Planning:

Develop and implement a sales/marketing plan.Identify and develop new services for ambulatory surgery centers.Quality Improvement:

Develop and promote implementation of a continuous quality improvement program.Administer the infection control program.Identify and correct quality care issues.Medical Staff Relationships:

Process the credentialing of practitioners.Collaborate with the Medical Director in the review of Medical Staff Bylaws.Physical Facility:

Ensure the facility is clean, neat, and well maintained.Identify and approve plant improvements and repairs.Administrative Representative:

Attend corporate administrative meetings representing the facility.Stay current in changes in the healthcare environment.Personal Development and Professionalism:

Identify areas that require additional reinforcement through education.Follow the facility's professional conduct and dress code policy.Required Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.Hospital or Surgical Hospital experience.Minimum three years’ experience in a top administrative or management position.Good command of the English language.Ability to work well with physicians, employees, and patients.USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
