The CEO is responsible for directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of the operating functions, processes, and staff of the Surgical Hospital while efficiently providing surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations. Reports to:

Regional Vice President, Operations or Regional Director, Operations, and Governing Board of the facility. Jobs Reporting to this position:

All facility employees and contract staff. Responsibilities: The daily operation of the facility. Serving as a liaison between the Governing Board, the Medical Staff, and all departments. Reporting pertinent activities concerning the facility to the Governing Board at regular intervals. Appointing a person responsible for the facility in the absence of the CEO. Planning for services provided by the facility and overall management of the Partnership. Lead discussions/presentations during Monthly Operations Review calls. Deploy, monitor, and ensure compliance with USPI’s policies and procedures. Develop, monitor, and control staffing needs and budgets. Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies. Negotiate and control all external contracts. Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis. Foster positive work relationships among all departments. Develop and ensure compliance with departmental policy and procedure manuals. Monitor financial performance to avoid cash flow problems. Hold monthly staff meetings outlining goals and priorities. Manage employees in accordance with facility policies. Provide educational opportunities for professional staff development. Promote positive customer relations. Clinical Services: Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting body standards. Work with the Medical Director on existing and new surgical services. Manage clinical departments and supervise contracted services. Monitor the function of surgical equipment through contracted services. Marketing and Planning: Develop and implement a sales/marketing plan. Identify and develop new services for ambulatory surgery centers. Foster positive public relations. Quality Improvement: Develop and promote a continuous quality improvement program. Identify and correct quality care issues. Serve as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee. Medical Staff Relationships: Process the credentialing of practitioners. Collaborate with the Medical Director on Medical Staff Bylaws. Promote positive relationships between employees and practitioners. Physical Facility: Ensure the facility is clean, well-maintained, and professional. Identify and approve plant improvements and repairs. Administrative Representative: Attend corporate administrative meetings representing the facility. Stay current in changes in the healthcare environment. Personal Development and Professionalism: Attend mandatory in-services and meetings. Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy. Required Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Hospital or Surgical Hospital experience. Minimum three years’ experience in a top administrative or management position. Good command of the English language. Ability to work well with various stakeholders. USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
