The Team:

The US Public Finance Housing team covers a portfolio of about 600 ratings associated with housing finance agencies, public housing authorities, and community development finance institutions, along with analysis of rental housing bonds, capital fund financings, and federally-enhanced housing issues across the country. As a Director, you will participate in the management of a complex portfolio of credits and in market research and thought leadership efforts. Responsibilities and Impact:

As a Director, you will analyze a portfolio of assigned entities, assess clients’ financial projections, and resolve difficult deal-specific analytical situations. This position is responsible for meeting with issuers and investors on analytical matters, assisting in resolving client needs, contributing to media requirements in conjunction with other senior members of the organization, and taking the lead at external meetings related to credits. This role also entails internal leadership both in mentoring junior analysts and supporting in the overall leadership of the Housing team, in conjunction with the Analytical Manager, Sector Leads, and other Directors.

Specifically, in this role, the analyst will:

Rate complex deals and proficiently write complex analytical reports.

Act as a senior member of rating committees and be responsible for convening and conducting of rating committee deliberations in Housing, including acting as the rating committee chair and assuring the integrity of the rating process.

Function as a sector expert on credits. Publish timely industry commentaries, and proficiently write sector reviews and thought leadership pieces. Speak publicly and represent the company to external stakeholders.

Manage, support and guide junior analysts and develop their analytical and personal skills. Review, critique, and provide analytic feedback on performance.

Embody a risk aware culture including leading by example, ensuring that analytical guidelines, quality standards, procedures and policies established are adhered to for all credits.

Lead operational and process improvements, maintaining a focus on both analytical excellence and a risk mindset.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is

$125,900 to $220,300 . Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor degree is required, postgraduate qualifications would be an advantage.

7+ years of experience related to the Public Finance sector.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills and a demonstrated ability to coach and mentor analytical team members.

Propensity to show initiative and demonstrative proactive leadership.

Strong communication (both written and oral) and influencing skills.

The aptitude to be a team player, balancing independent work.

The capacity and willingness to ensure that analytical guidelines, quality standards, procedures and policies established are adhered to for all credits.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

A deep understanding of the Public Finance sector, including expertise in Housing.
