What We Do
Inside each student lives a story waiting to unfold. We know every student is capable of shaping a story of success—in school, and in life. But not every student has had a fair chance to see it. Saga Education envisions a world where students–especially Black and Latinx students–have equitable access to economic and social mobility. To achieve this, Saga seeks to establish high-impact, in-school-day math tutoring as an integrated part of a student's education, as a proven response to accelerating educational equity.

What You'll Do
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Site Director is responsible for ensuring that Saga math tutoring is functioning effectively at the school site. The Site Director serves as the direct supervisor and coach for a team of AmeriCorps Member Math Fellows. The primary goal of the Site Director is to drive student learning in Saga Math Lab by consistently improving the effectiveness of tutorials. This is accomplished through weekly observations and coaching sessions with Saga Fellows and with consistent collaboration with school administration and teachers to ensure an effective and healthy partnership.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
Observe a team of up to 10 Saga Fellows daily, and provide feedback through real-time and weekly coaching sessions to individual Fellows and the team as a whole
Manage classroom behavior, processes, and systems and ensure team morale
Analyze internal assessment data and consult with the Director of Programs on trends and implement the feedback to create action plans to improve site and student performance
Adapt and lead all professional development sessions, created by the Academics Team, for Fellows at your site during the school year
Meet regularly with school administrator(s) to provide updates on Saga Math Lab successes and challenges, and to engage feedback on how the program can improve
Meet regularly with math teachers to optimize the alignment of Saga curriculum with math class instruction and scopes and sequences, and to seek feedback for future improvements
Maintain, monitor, and analyze student progress and attendance in Saga Math Lab and math classes to create intervention plans for struggling and chronically absent students in collaboration with their Fellow
Maintain your site budget through expense tracking and monitoring

You have 2+ years of experience as a middle or high school teacher, with full classroom responsibility and oversight
You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field
You are proficient in high school math (through Algebra I/II and Geometry)
You have lived or work experience in historically underserved communities
You have experience with online math learning platforms,
preferred but not required
