Selby Jennings is partnered with a Family Office with an established track record looking to grow their Venture arm. This team works across a diversified industries and investments, and is looking for a Venture Partner with a track record of success to spearhead their first fund (open to industry).Ideal candidates are current Managing Directors/Partners (experienced in Artificial Intelligence/AI a plus, but not required) looking to utilize the infrastructure of a platform and investing from a balance sheet at an ad hoc basis while working with the Capital Team to raise their first fund.Key Responsibilities:Deal Sourcing:Identify and source high-quality investment opportunities within [specified industry/sector].Leverage your network to establish and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and other venture capital firms.Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to stay informed about emerging trends and opportunities.Investment Evaluation:Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments, including market analysis, competitive landscape, financial modeling, and risk assessment.Work closely with the internal team and external advisors to evaluate the business models, financials, and growth potential of prospective companies.Prepare and present detailed investment memos and recommendations to the Investment Committee.Transaction Execution:Lead and manage the end-to-end transaction process, including negotiations, structuring deals, and coordinating with legal, financial, and operational teams.Oversee the preparation and review of term sheets, investment agreements, and other legal documentation.Ensure timely and efficient closing of transactions, maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders throughout the process.Portfolio Management:Provide strategic guidance and support to portfolio companies post-investment, helping them achieve key milestones and scale their operations.Monitor the performance of portfolio companies, identifying opportunities for follow-on investments or exits.Collaborate with portfolio company leadership to resolve challenges and unlock growth opportunities.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.7+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or a similar field, with a proven track record of sourcing and executing successful transactions.Deep understanding of the [industry/sector] landscape, including key players, market dynamics, and emerging trends.Strong financial modeling, analytical, and negotiation skills.Extensive network within the venture capital and entrepreneurial ecosystems.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.If there's interest, don't hesitate to apply!
