The VP of People and Development is responsible for leading, developing, and directing all aspects of the company's human resources and development functions to ensure the company achieves its vision.This position is on-site in San Antonio, TexasEssential Functions:Embodies the leadership style that is the objective of the organization: motivating, highly trusted, has great followership, and extremely collaborative.Serves as the subject matter expert on all organizational development-related matters, identifying and understanding opportunities for programmatic improvements based on current and forecasted needs.Creates and leads the HR and the Training team to enable the delivery of business strategy.Manages projects related to various talent development and organizational initiatives, as needed, such as organizational design, succession planning, engagement, and recognition.Manages employment-related regulatory compliance.Establishes both short- and long-term HR Strategies to align with business and organizational objectives.Creates team modeling and develops coaching leaders, managers, employees, and direct reports on key areas such as leadership, teamwork, strategy, talent management, and performance differentiation.Creates competency development and develops staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the organization for positions of responsibility and staff retention. Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the company.Develop recruitment strategy.Develop and maintain strategic compensation programs for the company.Develops performance management process for the company.Develop HR-related policies.Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements:Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Able to build a strong employee relations team serving business partners and employees in multiple locations and virtual offices.Experience in driving efforts and projects, implementing talent management solutions, and creating benchmarking goals.Excellent people skills demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to effectively identify and prioritize the most critical tasks.Exercises good judgment and maintains strict confidentiality.Excellent team player with the ability and willingness to pitch in as needed in areas outside one’s core expertise.Board-level presentation skills are required.Strong analytical and conceptual skills.Ability to develop creative solutions with keen attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects within given timelines.Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree required (master's degree preferred) in Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration or related degree.Minimum of 10 years HR related experience including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.SHRM-CP certification preferred or equivalent certification.
