We are seeking a

Director of Finance

to advance the mission, philosophy, and values of Circle of Care on behalf of our growing staff of 150+ employees, and the youth and families we serve.

Role Overview:

The

Director of Finance

is a Senior-level position and plays a critical role in overseeing financial operations, maintaining fiscal integrity, and providing strategic financial insights. As a key member of our Senior Leadership team, you'll manage all accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and contribute to our mission-driven goals.

Essential Functions:

Financial Management and Strategy:

Develop and oversee the financial strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.

Prepare and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other senior leaders.

Accounting and Financial Reporting:

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.

Manage and coordinate all financial audits and implement necessary changes based on audit recommendations.

Treasury and Cash Management:

Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow to ensure financial stability and liquidity.

Oversee investments and manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions.

Develop strategies to optimize the organization's financial resources.

Grants and Funding:

Oversee the financial aspects of grant management, ensuring compliance with all funding requirements.

Prepare financial reports for grantors and funding agencies.

Internal Controls and Risk Management:

Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Identify and manage financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate them.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and laws.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Foster collaboration and communication within the finance team and across the agency.

Board Relations:

Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors' finance and audit committees.

Prepare and present financial reports to the Board, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a non-profit organization.

Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting, including fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.

Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.

High level of integrity and commitment to the organization's mission.

Proficiency in financial software and systems, including accounting and ERP systems (such as SAGE Intacct, Quickbooks).

Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience starting at $110,000.
