About the Position
Old Mission is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in our Chicago, IL office. As a vital member of our accounting department, you will play a key role in maintaining financial records and the month-end close process, reviewing and paying vendor invoices, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
Responsibilities
Periodic review of invoices and processing of ACH batches and other forms of invoice payment.
Perform general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Execute general ledger accounting tasks in accordance with GAAP standards.
Apply accrual accounting methods to accurately reflect financial transactions.
Process various cash transactions and wire requests.
Collaborate with the internal team to provide financial services and support corporate finance initiatives.
Required Skills
4+ years experience in accounting.
Strong knowledge of general ledger reconciliation practices.
Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial planning.
Proficiency in GAAP principles and accrual accounting methods.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate financial information clearly.
Must be able to work independently after training.
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Bonus Profile
Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software is a plus.
Experience with the securities trading industry is a plus.
