Your Opportunity
We are hiring a Civil/Water/Wastewater Engineer-EIT to perform engineering work under supervision requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out a sequence of related civil/water/wastewater engineering tasks such as the preparation of simple plans, designs, calculations, costs and bills of material in accordance with established codes, standards and drawings.
Your Key Responsibilities
Use knowledge of general concepts of relevant engineering elements including the analysis and design of water supply, distribution and treatment systems, sewerage networks, and wastewater treatment systems.
Perform basic calculations to analyze and design water/wastewater system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
Assist team in preparing water/wastewater designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and gather information to support design decisions.
Assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer.
Assist the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.
Perform field work related to construction related activities as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Has well-developed understanding of concepts of relevant areas of water/wastewater treatment infrastructure design.
Possesses excellent time management skills; thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources.
Ability to effectively discuss project issues with the project team and support the development of project solutions.
Proficiency in relevant discipline software programs and tools, such as BioWin, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and others.
Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
Strong interpersonal skills for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders, including working in remote/virtual settings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an emphasis on Civil Engineering or related field.
EIT Certification required.
Two years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Position will work in both a field and office setting. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Must be available to travel for out-of-town projects when needed.
Salary Range(s):
$85,200 - $123.500 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA and DC
