About the roleWe are looking for a Software Engineer to join us in building the new financial platform for Chime. This platform will power the most important financial activities that millions of Chime members leverage every day.
In this role, your main responsibility will be to collaborate with various teams at Chime to assess and address potential failure scenarios. You will work towards implementing essential technology foundations to enhance the resilience of our services. Additionally, you will be instrumental in developing a robust event streaming infrastructure that enables the Financial Platform to effectively process a large volume of events. Last but not least, you will also play a key role in implementing important security features while collaborating with the product security team.
You will ensure that we build the highest levels of trust with our members by making our platform lightning fast, available, secure, and auditable. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a high-visibility team that will be pivotal to the future of Chime.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $157,590 and up to $218,900. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
Deliver complex projects using Go
Collaborate with other teams to design, develop, test, and deploy tools, libraries, and services to solve cross-cutting problems
Enable fellow engineers to develop faster and more efficiently
Lead best practices to promote the culture of engineering excellence
Deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure and APIs
Work with our infrastructure engineering team to minimize the operational overhead of production systems we deploy
To thrive in this role, you have
6+ years of software engineering experience
Experience in Go (additional backend languages such as Ruby, Java, and Python are preferred)
Experience with AWS (or other cloud platforms) especially with Kinesis, DynamoDB, and Elastic Kubernetes Service
A strong curiosity about how systems work and a desire to learn
Designed, developed, and supported large-scale distributed systems
Experience in observability and monitoring of production systems
A deep understanding of architectural patterns for large, mission-critical production services
Comfort with solving complex, poorly defined problems and thriving in an iterative, problem-solving environment
A rigorous approach to testing code and experience in continuous integration/deployment environments
