About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join us in building the new financial platform for Chime. This platform will power the most important financial activities that millions of Chime members leverage every day.In this role, your main responsibility will be to collaborate with various teams at Chime to assess and address potential failure scenarios. You will work towards implementing essential technology foundations to enhance the resilience of our services. Additionally, you will be instrumental in developing a robust event streaming infrastructure that enables the Financial Platform to effectively process a large volume of events. Last but not least, you will also play a key role in implementing important security features while collaborating with the product security team.You will ensure that we build the highest levels of trust with our members by making our platform lightning fast, available, secure, and auditable. Deliver complex projects using GoCollaborate with other teams to design, develop, test, and deploy tools, libraries, and services to solve cross-cutting problemsEnable fellow engineers to develop faster and more efficientlyLead best practices to promote the culture of engineering excellenceDeliver secure, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure and APIsWork with our infrastructure engineering team to minimize the operational overhead of production systems we deployTo thrive in this role, you have

6+ years of software engineering experienceExperience in Go (additional backend languages such as Ruby, Java, and Python are preferred)Experience with AWS (or other cloud platforms) especially with Kinesis, DynamoDB, and Elastic Kubernetes ServiceA strong curiosity about how systems work and a desire to learnDesigned, developed, and supported large-scale distributed systemsExperience in observability and monitoring of production systemsA deep understanding of architectural patterns for large, mission-critical production servicesComfort with solving complex, poorly defined problems and thriving in an iterative, problem-solving environmentA rigorous approach to testing code and experience in continuous integration/deployment environmentsA little about us
