Job Summary:

The Student Affairs Vice President Office’s HR area is currently recruiting a responsible Student HR Assistant, who is awarded Federal Work Study through their Financial Aid package, to join their team of professionals.

Serve as an administrative liaison between prospective and current employees and the DASA Business Unit HR Liaisons, assisting with responses to all incoming emails to the DASA HR inbox to provide general answers to routine questions as they relate to the pre-boarding status and internal DASA process.

Assist the Senior HR Specialist with onboarding Student Assistant candidates by creating and posting official job offers and offer letters.

Assist Senior HR Specialist with implementing the request for Federal Work Study (FWS) and Temporary Postings and Hirings.

Assist the Senior HR Specialist with updating FWS and Student job openings each academic year, as needed.

Assist with keeping the DASA HR tracking sheets up to date with all HR Actions.

Support Assistant Director of HR for DASA and the Senior HR Specialist with overall internal recruitment and onboarding process and events sponsored by the Division.

Attend FIU Service Excellence trainings once a year.

Desired Qualifications

A current Human Resources Management student or a student in a related field.

Intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Possess a high sense of responsibility and customer service skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software programs.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally, and in writing.

Who May Apply

Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.

Students must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.

Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
