Music Director/Organist

Calvary Lutheran Church on the southside of Indianapolis is seeking to fill these positions:a part-time organistan Adult Choir DirectorChorale accompanistHandbell DirectorAll of these positions would participate in Thursday night rehearsals and selected Saturday night (5:30) and Sunday morning (8:00 a.m.) services. The services are all traditional. This does not have to be just one person doing all these different jobs. Please let us know if you are interested in any of the specific roles above.Responsibilities:Select and/or arrange music pieces for performances either for organ or for Choir/Handbells.Conduct rehearsals of ensembles - regular rehearsal night is Thursday night for both Choir and Handbells.Collaborate with staff to coordinate music for services.Mentor and provide guidance to musicians and singers.Skills:Excellent communication skills to effectively convey musical direction.Strong educational background in music theory and performance and an awareness of what a Lutheran worship service entails.Ability to mentor and inspire musicians.Leadership qualities to guide the musical team to success.Job Type:
