Job OverviewWinter Park Presbyterian Church is seeking our next Music Director / Organist. If you are interested in a part-time position working with a group of creative and enthusiastic musicians, we would love to talk with you.DutiesPlay the organ and piano for worship services (Sunday mornings at 10am, funerals as needed, and special worship services such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Maundy Thursday).Collaborate with the Pastor in the selection of appropriate music, in a variety of styles, for worship services. Do sufficiently long range planning so the director has time to prepare for presenting and directing the music, and the choirs have time for learning the pieces.Direct and accompany the Chancel Choir and direct the Jubilee Handbell Choir. Lead weekly rehearsals and choose and distribute music. Provide support when children and youth perform musical programs during special worship services. Work with the Ukulele Choir director as needed.Seek out and encourage participation of musical talent from within the congregation and the community, both vocal and instrumental. Write/transpose instrumental arrangements when needed to match musical talents.Attend staff meetings and communicate with the Worship Commission concerning schedule, program, and budget issues.Maintain the music library. Order and purchase new music to supplement the music program within budget guidelines.Organize the music rooms with special regard to the music, robes, handbells, and assorted musical instruments.Arrange for and supervise periodic piano, handbell, and organ maintenance.Secure substitute musical leadership when absent for reasons of vacation or personal business.Notify the Church Secretary by Wednesday morning each week of hymn titles, name and composer of the anthem, and information on the Prelude, Offertory, and Postlude for the Sunday bulletin. Communicate with the congregation through the monthly newsletter.Be responsible for copyright requirements of music by requesting permission from copyright holders and/or working with the church’s streaming licenses’ list of copyrighted material. Submit payment for musical selections used, if required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will have completed at least a Bachelor’s degree in Music, have experience leading choral groups, be proficient at playing organ and piano, and have at least 3-5 years of experience. The successful candidate must be skillful at interpersonal interaction.Job Type:
