This position will be filled at the Counsel or Senior Counsel level depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.JOB SUMMARYThe person filling this position will be a team member of the Employment, Benefits and Labor practice group of the Entergy Legal Department (“EBL”), reporting to the Associate General Counsel, EBL (“supervisor”). The specific role available is for an employment lawyer with experience advising and handling a broad range of federal and state employment and labor law matters, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.WORK LOCATIONThe designated work location for the position is at the Entergy New Orleans corporate headquarters building, 22nd floor, or such other Entergy location as employer may designate, with such telecommuting work location and schedule as supervisor may determine. The position requires reporting to, and working from, the designated work location as the supervisor may direct, which currently is anticipated to be onsite at least 2-3 days per week. The supervisor has the sole discretion to change the position from hybrid to full-time onsite at any time and for any reason.JOB DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES and REQUIREMENTSAbility to work collaboratively as an integral member of the EBL team and to perform well in team-oriented environments.Broad-based knowledge of state and federal employment and labor laws and ability to provide expert advice and legal guidance regarding employment-related issues, covering all aspects of the employment experience, from offer to separation.Experience advising on a broad range of employment-related topics under federal, state and local law, including wage and hour compliance, leave issues, pay equity, and discrimination, harassment and retaliation laws.Experience responding to EEOC charges, representing clients in proceedings before government agencies, and in employment litigation at the local, state and federal court levels.Experience drafting and providing advice concerning employment-related policies and agreements.Experience supporting employment-related strategies and policy decisions.Experience advising on a broad range of labor law related topics, including the NLRA, labor-related disputes, labor law matters, providing legal support for grievances, arbitrations, labor negotiations, work stoppages, labor organizing campaigns, unfair labor practices, and drafting collective bargaining agreements.Excellent communication skills and ability to comfortably communicate and collaborate with others at all levels of the organization, including executive management and individual contributors.Strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Ability to provide employment-related training to Human Resources personnel and others across the enterprise.Assist with employment and labor law aspects of mergers, acquisition, divestitures, joint ventures, etc.Experience in providing advice concerning workplace investigations and employee complaints.Strong work ethic; keen attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; and excellent academic credentials.Ability to work independently, with minimal direction.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAt least 5 years of experience in employment and/or labor law is required; prior employment at a nationally recognized law firm is a plus.Membership in good standing of a state bar with no prior suspensions or disciplinary history.Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school is required.Regular and reliable attendance at work during scheduled hours and availability to work more than a regular 40-hour work week as needed.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.Must be well organized and detail-oriented.Primary Location:
