World class management and construction consultancy with many years experience in the building and construction industry based in Atlanta is looking for an Estimator for Pre-construction of multi-million and billion dollar projects in various sectors (hotels, schools, airports, commercial ground up construction in Atlanta, GA and surrounding.)Excellent Salary, Benefits, 401K and paid time off.Estimator Experience Requirements:Estimator will work directly with the departments Preconstruction Manager, and work with the team to prepare estimates, budgets and proposals. The team member will determine, along with the Preconstruction Manager, the trade contractors and vendors to solicit for each of project(s) being priced.They will provide quantity take-offs and surveys, assist with calling trade contractors/vendors, prepare bid tab and leveling sheets, prepare preliminary project schedules and project logistics plan and play a key role in coordinating project information from the architect or the owner, as well as other areas of responsibility as described below.Experience:5-10 years of experience in the commercial construction industry in a role of a junior estimator, project engineer, or assistant project manager.Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of drawing review, quantity survey skills, site logistic planning and project scheduling. Must possess a working knowledge of computer programs needed in the performance of this position. Program types include but are notlimited to P6, Sage Microsoft Excel and Word. Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to effectively maintain relationships with the trade contractors, vendors, owners and design professionals.Responsibilities and Skills:Job responsibilities include supervision of junior estimators and interns. Ensure all bid schedules are maintained. Coordinate the assembling of the bid pricing, including all quotes, schedules and logistics plan. Effectively communicate bids/estimates to the owner, and if necessary, design professionals.Areas of Accountability:Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.Prepares construction budgets by reviewing and studying drawings, specifications and otherrelative information.Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.Obtains bids from trade contractors/vendors by specifying material, identifying qualified tradecontractors and vendors and negotiating price.Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information.Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Maintains quality service by following organization standards.Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting andcommunicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewingprofessional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
