Job Description - Director - Service Line Assessment & Development (241792)Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes HCMC, a nationally recognized Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, as well as a clinic system with primary care clinics located in Minneapolis and across Hennepin County. The comprehensive healthcare system includes a 473-bed academic medical center, a large outpatient Clinic & Specialty Center, and a network of clinics in the North Loop, Whittier, and East Lake Street neighborhoods of Minneapolis, and in the suburban communities of Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, Richfield, and St. Anthony Village. Hennepin Healthcare has a large psychiatric program, home care, and operates a research institute, philanthropic foundation, and Hennepin EMS. Director (Service Line Assessment & Development)
to join our Strategy team. This full-time role will work days.Purpose of the position:The Director of Service Line Assessment & Development plays a key role within the Strategy team, collaborating with clinical, operational, and financial leadership to develop and execute portfolio assessments, business plans, and other types of analysis. This includes conducting market and competitive assessments, analyzing performance data, identifying trends, and providing recommendations to optimize or grow service lines.The team’s work is often featured in presentations to executive leadership and the board, requiring the Director to create, justify, and present well-researched plans in collaboration with other team members. The role also contributes to refining the strategic planning process across the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead business planning efforts to develop comprehensive service strategies in collaboration with leadership, clinical programs, and cross-functional departments.Conduct market and landscape assessments to inform overarching business plans for specific service lines.Perform competitive analyses, comparing performance, volumes, market share, and outcomes to both local and national providers, while identifying opportunities and barriers.Partner with key stakeholders to analyze program performance and opportunities, developing actionable recommendations.Establish and monitor key performance metrics, conducting project assessments and program reviews, and implementing corrective actions as needed.Contribute to the development of the organization's long-term strategic plan.Support other Strategy department initiatives as needed.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in marketing, healthcare, or business administration (Master's degree preferred).Minimum of 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on business planning and development.Hospital experience is preferred.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in business (MBA), healthcare administration (MHA), or a related field.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.Strong analytical, financial, business development, and strategic planning skills.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Team-oriented, with a collaborative approach to business growth initiatives.Demonstrates alignment with the vision, mission, and values of the organization.You've made the right choice in considering Hennepin Healthcare for your employment.
