Tesla is currently looking for a Journeyman level Pipefitter. This position will support the internal Self Perform Construction Team.
Responsibilities
Assist with planning, material acquisition, coordination and communication to ensure the work gets completed with a focus on meeting project deadlines and cost goals without impacting ongoing productionAct as in-house construction technician, planning and performing mechanical piping and equipment installation, including support of start-up and commissioning of those systems as neededEnthusiastically cross train and support peers with project work that is outside of your, or their, core skill setIdentify and communicate quality, safety, and productivity improvement opportunitiesEngage in training on new tools, systems, equipment and procedures as neededAccurately log work hours and material consumption using provided computer systems and softwareRequirements
Demonstrated proficiency and work expereince with construction pipefitting; Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge with piping systems, fitting installation and applicable codesCompletion of a skilled trade's certificate program and/or relevant military experience is preferred; Associates Degree in Engineering or Technology is a plusExperience with Stainless Steel, Copper, PVC/CPVC, Carbon Steel piping systems; Ability to read drawings, shop, isometric, PID, SchematicWillingness to travel to other Tesla Facilities for support when needed; Willing to work outside your trade when required; Support other projects when needed as business needs changeEvidence of exceptional ability in a similar environment (Large scale Industrial/ Manufacturing Construction Site)Able to lift up to up to 60 lbs., repetitive at times, work at elevations up to 50 ftMust have command of the English language, both written and verbalCompensation and BenefitsBenefits
