Application Instructions

Join our team as a Structures Foreman and be a part of dynamic construction projects! We are looking for an experienced foreman with a strong background in overseeing crews working on Heavy Civil projects. As a Structures Foreman, you will provide direct field supervision to employees working on all phases of construction, maintenance, and repair operations. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under your direction and control. Most of the projects will be TXDOT, and you will oversee Concrete Carpenter, Formbuilder, Formsetters, and Concrete Finishers. This position requires a background in concrete form building.

Position Description

Responsibilities:

Enforce safety policies and practices by reading, understanding, interpreting and enforcing them.Ensure that employees, including craft and supervision, are following safety procedures and address any concerns in a timely manner.Complete construction projects based upon the highest quality standards. Read and comprehend plans and specifications before constructing and double-check measurements when in doubt.Monitor equipment usage regularly, notify the appropriate personnel of any equipment that is not working properly and remove it from service if it would cause a safety incident.Accurately track and record installed quantities for materials in Heavy Job on a daily basis.Input daily hours worked by crew members, equipment, quantities of materials, issues and change orders into Heavy Job Mobile.Document all issues and changes in the daily report in Heavy Job Mobile, including photos and videos when appropriate and as needed to convey messages more clearly and accurately.Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to increase the efficiency of the work crew.Analyze and resolve work problems, assist workers in solving work problems, and initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job, including a basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.Read and understand a construction schedule.Assist with ordering supplies, completing reports, and collecting, reviewing and submitting timecards as directed by the Superintendent.Perform other duties as directed.Position Requirements

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in public works or heavy civil construction and maintenance, including heavy equipment motor vehicle operation.Field supervision experience is required.An associate's degree or equivalent technical school is preferred.Experience with DOT projects is highly preferred.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Valid driver's license.OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications are preferred but not required.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
