Do you enjoy providing administrative support and working with a diverse group of individuals? Are you knowledgeable of computer operations and electronic systems? Then look no further! The Virginia Department of Energy, Mined Land Repurposing program, is seeking a Program Support Technician to ensure mineral resource extraction is conducted in an environmentally sound manner and is in compliance with Virginia mineral extraction and reclamation regulations by evaluating permits. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing permit applications, providing administrative assistance, auditing bond and fee activity, and coordinating special projects.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate should have the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience to qualify for this position:• Knowledge and skills in computer operations and databases including Microsoft Office, Virginia's E-forms, and Virginia Energy Receipting System programs• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing• Ability to make sound decisions based on Virginia's mining regulatory program• Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, and procedures• High School diploma or equivalent• A valid driver's license with a good driving record
The individual accepted for employment will have to successfully pass a drug test, background check, and reference check as part of the Virginia Energy pre-employment process.
Additional Considerations• Experience in application of regulations is desirable
