Voices for Independence is currently seeking a
full-time
Assistive Technology Specialist to provide services within our service area.
The
Assistive Technology Specialist
is responsible for assessing, assembling, recommending, and providing training and support for assistive technologies to individuals with disabilities to increase their independence. Working within a Center for Independent Living (CIL), the AT Specialist plays a vital role in promoting access to technology and empowering individuals to live independently.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This requirement can be waived when the employer identifies unusual experience and aptitude for the position based upon life experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Critical thinking and decision-making skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with assistive technology devices and software.Familiarity with CIL Suite or similar database management systems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Within one year in the position, employees must acquire a thorough understanding of the Independent Living Movement, its philosophy, principles, and values and the ability to communicate these to others.A strong aptitude for using computer-based information sources.Benefits:
