WSP is seeking a motivated

Community Outreach Manager

to join our team, and to support the

Purple

Line project

. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to manage community

outreach efforts, and experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. This full-time position will be based in our client's office located in

Riverdale, MD

, where it will be required to report to the office 5 days a week.

The Purple Line is a 16-mile light rail line that will extend from Bethesda in Montgomery County to New Carrollton in Prince George's County. It will provide a direct connection to the Metrorail Red, Green and Orange Lines, at Bethesda, Silver Spring, College Park, and New Carrollton. The Purple Line will also connect to MARC, Amtrak, and local bus services. The Purple Line is owned by the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA). In spring of 2016, MDOT MTA selected a private-sector partner, Purple Line Transit Partners (PLTP) to design, build, operate, and maintain the light rail system for 35 years.

Your Impact

Attend communication meetings with external stakeholders and assist as necessary

Attend construction meetings to provide input from outreach

Assist with development and implementation of the Public Outreach Communications Plan

Support development of communications materials

Assist with public meetings to support addressing concerns and documentation

Draft emails or meeting recaps to elected and other officials for the Director to review and send.

Review QC work done by the Community Liaisons.

Coordinate logistics for external project meetings, as needed

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

7-10 years of experience in communications/marketing/public involvement

Bachelor's Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field

Ability to work well with the public and interact effectively with all organizational levels, including agency staff, senior management, executive leadership, board members, community leaders, and city/county/state representatives

Experience working with public agencies

Excellent verbal, writing, and presentation skills

Ability to work independently and interdependently

Ability to work beyond standard business hours

Strong time management skills and high attention to detail

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Adobe In-Design and Photoshop

Experience working for/with WSP client organizations and in the infrastructure consulting industry

Experience planning and participating in pursuits, proposal preparation, and interviews for projects.

Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $91,200 - $154,900

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
