BTG is seeking a Business Sustainment Outreach Liaison to be a part of the Economic Empowerment and public outreach team for the construction of a light rail project between Bethesda and New Carrollton, MD. The Business Sustainment Outreach Liaison serves as direct contact with the businesses in the corridor and functions as a conduit for project information to businesses in the corridor and for business-related issues back up to the project outreach team and engineering/ construction team. The liaison is also responsible for providing information about the availability of technical business support to small businesses. The liaison will function as an integral part of the community outreach team and the outreach efforts for the project. He/she will work closely with the Outreach Managers and Community Liaisons and will keep staff informed about business, resources, events/activities and any business concerns that arise during construction. The Business Sustainment Outreach Liaison will work under the direction of the Deputy Project Director and the BTG Project Manager.Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorking with businesses during construction to address specific concernsCommunicating timely information to businesses during constructionDeveloping a working relationship with local business associations within the project corridorIdentifying available business sustainment resourcesInforming local businesses of these resourcesMaintaining business database, including contact information and all pertinent details about individual businessesAssist with preparation of action plans with defined objectives to support agreed upon business sustainment effortsAttending and presenting at internal and external meetings including community meetings, business association meetings, open houses and outreach events, as needed.Qualifications
EducationBachelor Degree - preferred fields; Business Management, Communications, Planning, or Construction ManagementKnowledge and SkillsFluency in SpanishOutgoing, self-motivated, and friendlyStrong teamwork, interpersonal, and leadership skillsMicrosoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Additional Information
This position will require travel throughout Montgomery and Prince Georges' counties.
