About the Position:

This position is part of the Reemployed Annuitants Cadre. Employees occupying these positions will provide emergency support to disaster-stricken areas throughout the United States.

This position is a

temporary

position not to exceed (NTE) 1-year; however, at the discretion of management, the position may be converted to a term position up to a maximum not to exceed (NTE) 4-years.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes providing expert advice on complex technical issues, and providing staff level oversight, direction, and coordination of Management and Disposal program activities; reviewing Management and Disposal goals, plans, and transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable Real Estate procedures, policies, and regulations; establishing priorities and making critical, time-sensitive judgments for use of resources to save human lives; inspecting construction, workmanship, and samples of materials proposed for use in the construction and recommend action; reviewing schedules and programs to determine the effectiveness of operations and economy of programs; and issuing directives for improvements and monitoring activities for meeting schedules and goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement:

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
