Position Description:DePelchin is seeking a conscientious, committed and goal-oriented Director, Donor Relations to lead and expand our individual, mid-level and major gifts programs, and planned giving initiatives.

The Director works directly with the Sr. VP of Advancement in developing and executing DePelchin’s individual mid-level program, major gifts program and planned giving initiatives. The Director provides guidance and support to donor relations staff in policy adherence, caseload assignments, annual caseload goals, creation of donor offers, donor visits and data management.

The Director will create and implement strategies related to the identification, qualification, engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors to achieve the financial goals established for the department. Primary responsibilities include:

Works with the Sr. VP of Advancement to devise, implement and manage effective, creative, and original resource development strategies as part of the Advancement team in order to achieve short-range and long-range goals of the department.Works with the Sr. VP of Advancement to devise, implement and manage effective, creative, and original mid and major donor recognition programs.Works closely with the Director of Donor and Community Engagement to coordinate the flow of mid and major level donor prospects identified through the acquisition process to the mid and major level donor pool.Assures there is integration and collaboration between mid and major donor relations staff, insuring the flow of donors through the pipeline.Contributes to design of caseload criteria. Approves all caseload additions, deletions, and donor relation staff assignments.Works with the Sr. VP of advancement to set overall annual caseload base revenue goals.

Works closing with donor relations staff and shares organization priorities in advance of goal setting. Monitor the progress of donor relations staff against set goals.Assist in the packaging of program information, donor offers and acknowledgements.

Reviews proposals and written material.

Works with program staff and finance to secure accurate information.Assures database is being used by donor relations staff to take donor touchpoints and information.Actively manage an assigned portfolio of donors based on strategic priorities identified by Sr. VP of advancement.Cultivates donor relations by thanking, updating, stewarding, and asking donors to deepen their financial partnership with DePelchin.Track all donor interaction in donor database.Provide required monthly reports that accurately reflect portfolio activity and performance.Accompanies board members, volunteers, CEO and Sr. VP of Advancement as needed in support of visits with current and prospective major donors.Participates in regular department and board meetings, providing progress updates.Represent DePelchin in community events which are pertinent to the promotion and support of DePelchin programs and projects as assigned.Perform public speaking to promote awareness and support of DePelchin programs as assigned.Lead tours for individual prospects and/or interested groups.Required Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree.Three (3) years related experience in fundraising.Proven ability to build relationships with supporters.Preferred Qualifications :

Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) a plus.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Knowledge of Fundraising practices.Must be conscientious, committed, and goal oriented.Persuasive, clear, and strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to stay organized while executing multiple projects.Ability to network effectively and cooperatively with diverse populations.Ability to perform effectively in public speaking and presenting to groups.Work Conditions :
